Sungthong Kamala Beach Resort

Very nice property, located 6-7 minutes walk from the beach (Kamala Beach), located in a good area, with many supermarkets, restaurants and shops. The beach was very long and have nice water (clear, nice colors). The pool at the property, you could get towels for the pool for free from the reception, but I preferred to go to the sea and did not use the pool, but I saw that there were people who used it every day, having a room with a view of the pool. The room I received was beyond expectations, it was actually an apartment, with a living room with a small kitchen at the entrance (fridge, microwave, water heater, but nothing else like stove or pots so you can cook), a sofa and a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The other room of the apartment was the bedroom, very large, including a large and comfortable double bed and also many space around the bed). Daily cleaning in the room, beds made, linen changed, towels changed daily, consumable items in the bathroom permanently replenished (shower gel, shampoo, soap, toilet paper). The bathroom, large, roomy, with a large shower cabin, hot water available for both the shower and the sink.

One of the better 3 star hotels I have stayed at on phuket. Many positive features you will appreciate: recently renovated with modern sinks, marble showers, well-functioning a/c, private deck, mini-fridge. Very clean. The bed was quite firm but I slept well. Generally more quite here than most due to location. However, at the time of this review (December, 2023) there is a construction project at the adjoining property and loud construction noise during daytime. For you sound nerds, the construction noise results in the typical noise level of 40 decibles increasing to about 55 decibles. Estimate that construction may continue throughout January. Daily room cleaning and the typical 2 bottles of water allotment. Very friendly host. Close to most services and grocery stores. Good value.

Fantastic staff, especially Mr Tee and Dahl who were front of house. Nothing was a problem to them and their care and attention meant the world. The other staff were just as friendly. The small things like a complimentary umbrellas for rain. The room was excellent and cleaned everyday. The room was so comfortable and had thee best shower in all of Thailand.

Good clean and spacious room. Very comfortable with balcony overlooking the pool. The location was good, although not right on the beach, there is a walkway from the pool area that takes you to the beach- about 300 metres I think? It is close to the Big C supermarket, which is where Phuket Smart Bus stops in Kamala - the bus runs between airport and Phuket Old town.

It was a nice location, had a great pool and was decent for the price.
